A Legacy of Excellence in Specialized Therapy Services
Founded in 1994 by Gary Krabbe, OT, CHT, In Motion Therapy began as In Motion Hand Therapy, with a focus on providing top-tier hand therapy services. As the practice grew, Gary recognized the need for a broader range of specialized therapy services in Montrose, CO. This realization led to significant expansion efforts between 2006 and 2011, during which In Motion Therapy gained an additional 7,000 square feet of space, an indoor heated therapy pool, and a specialized sports rehabilitation area.
In 2018, Gary Krabbe passed away, leaving behind a lasting legacy encapsulated in the ongoing operations of In Motion Therapy. His advice to “live a legacy” is reflected in the foundation and continued success of the practice. Later that year, Martin and Lori Lutz, close friends of Krabbe, purchased In Motion Therapy with a commitment to maintaining it as an independent private practice dedicated to delivering the highest quality therapy services.
Commitment to Community and Education at In Motion Therapy
At In Motion Therapy, public outreach and active community participation are integral components of our business model, embodied through our In Motion Engaged program. We take pride in fostering a culture of volunteerism, encouraging our employees to engage in community service projects. Currently, our team members actively contribute to the Montrose community by serving on three local Board of Directors.
As a teaching clinic, In Motion Therapy is dedicated to supporting the professional development of future healthcare providers. Throughout the school year, we host students from the Montrose High School career options seminar program, offering them valuable insights into potential career paths. Additionally, we serve as a clinical site for Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy doctorate and assistant students from schools across the country.
Each year, In Motion Therapy proudly hosts sports physicals, where local healthcare practitioners volunteer their time to provide comprehensive evaluations. Remarkably, 100% of the proceeds from this initiative are donated to high school sports medicine programs, reinforcing our commitment to community health.
Moreover, our annual Orthopedic Symposium is a cornerstone of our commitment to continuing education. This event provides local therapists with opportunities for professional development, ensuring that the standard of care in our community remains exceptional.
