History of In Motion Therapy

In Motion Therapy Montrose COGary Krabbe opened his first physical therapy practice in 1994 on Apollo Road in Montrose, CO as In Motion Hand Therapy, with one employee. Over the years, it became evident to Krabbe there was an increasing need to offer a broader range of physical therapy services. So he went into motion again in 2006 and expanded with increased physical therapy rehabilitation services to accommodate his larger patient base.

Krabbe again saw the need to expand the current location at 611 East Star Court, Suite B in Montrose CO, with 6,000 additional square feet, and an indoor heated therapy pool in 2009. In 2011 the practice expanded again with an additional 1,000 square feet that includes a specialized sports rehabilitation area. The athletic departments at Montrose High School and Olathe High School both utilize the In Motion sports rehabilitation services. The specialized service includes an anterior cruciate ligament prevention program at the high school for all the female athletes, along with concussion management for middle school and high school athletes across the entire district.

Public outreach has been a key feature to the business model for Gary since founding In Motion. During the school year, In Motion Therapy will host many students from the Montrose High School career options seminar program, promoting career development and helping students explore career options. In Motion is also the yearly host to sports physicals where local healthcare practitioners volunteer to give inexpensive physicals, where 100% of the proceeds are donated to the HS sports medicine programs.

Today, In Motion Therapy is 95 percent doctor referral based. It offers full-range physical therapy and rehabilitation services, including pool therapy and Dry Needling. Patients of all ages are welcomed from all over the Uncompahgre Valley, as well as from Telluride and Grand Junction.
